This image of Driftwood Creek was taken near the bridge you encounter just before you enter the park. I have been told it has an appearance similar to a painting, and that "look" was actually my objective as I viewed and photographed the scene. To accomplish this I had my camera with 200-400 mm lens on my sturdy tripod and used a long shutter speed to show softness in the water flow over the rocks. If you look closely at the photograph you can see that it was snowing lightly - note the faint streaks (vertically but on a slight angle) made by the snow flakes as they fell. The Driftwood, a tributary of the Bulkley River, is located north of Smithers in scenic northwestern British Columbia. (Can you see the face?)
